THIS IS OUR STORY.
Creating opportunities for emerging nations to shape their own future.

How It All Began
In 1990, a small group of visionaries incorporated Resource Exchange International (REI) as a U.S.-based educational and humanitarian nonprofit.
Their guiding conviction: individuals are the greatest resource any country has. By equipping them with knowledge, skills and opportunity, entire communities and nations can be transformed.
Just two years later, in 1992, REI mounted its first survey trip — to Vietnam. From that first collaboration onward, REI committed to long-term, field-driven work, sending both resident staff and short-term professionals to partner with local institutions, survey local needs and help build sustainable solutions.
Thus began a journey not of charity as short-term handouts, but of capacity-building: of sharing expertise, fostering leadership and creating opportunities for emerging nations to shape their own future.
A GLOBAL CALLING
From the outset, REI has held a holistic vision: to equip people, beyond simply meeting urgent needs,
but strengthening their country's strategic sectors for long-term prosperity.

From First Steps to Global Impact
What started as a single survey trip to Vietnam has blossomed over decades into a network of programs across multiple continents.
As of now, REI supports work in countries such as Djibouti, Egypt, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Morocco, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
Whether it’s helping draft an English-language curriculum, strengthening medical training at local hospitals, launching business-enterprise initiatives or offering business and agriculture education — REI remains committed to “people-first” development.
