A Note from Tim
As we look back at 2025, it has been a great year for both Short-Term Professional Teams and for Exchange Fellows. It is a privilege to coordinate these teams of professionals that go to Vietnam, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and provide important training in medical and educational spheres. Thank you to all who have served on one of REI’s teams this last year! Every training, whether in hospitals or universities, is valuable for the recipients and their development and growth. These trips truly plant seeds and are an important part of long-term improvements.
The five Exchange Fellows REI had this year have been so impressive, and it is a sentiment I heard often from each of the hosts and places they visited. Thank you to all who were a part of hosting, professionally and housing, for each of these visiting professionals! These exchange visits can provide significant growth opportunities for the fellows as they bring back to their countries the experiences and insights they learned while in the U.S.

Director of Short-Term Professional Teams & Exchange Fellows

Looking ahead to 2026, I am excited for the teams we are starting to put together, hopeful in who will be a part of each team, the kinds of training that I am looking forward to happening, and the places they will be in and the people who will benefit from these trainings, We are looking forward to having our first Business Team going to Indonesia this spring, and continuing to have teams go to Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and hopefully Uzbekistan too. If you haven’t made plans to be a part of one of REI’s professional teams or to be a host for one of REI’s Exchange Fellows, please consider making this a part of your 2026 to help build up professionals in these REI countries.
